When winding quality counts

Value for money

Gear-drive winch quality at chain-winch price

The cross-mounted drum with winding aid coils the rope evenly. Rope unwinding as standard, remote as accessory.

Close to nature

Specialist for close-to-nature management

Controlled pulling instead of rough tearing. Designed for selection forests and winch-assisted felling: where precision matters more than raw force.

Special brake system (SBS)

Rope stays taut, load stays calm.

Instead of on/off, the SBS brake can be opened in a metered way. When you drive forward with the tractor, the load moves along under tension. The brake releases only enough to keep the rope taut. No slackening, no jerky tightening.

Haul heavy loads in stages even with a light tractor, the front axle stays down.

Winding

Winding quality like a gear-drive winch

Clean, even winding like a gear-drive winch, at the price of a chain winch.

Pressure roller
Winding

Pressure roller

Presses the rope onto the drum in a controlled way during winding, prevents loose coils and ensures even winding quality.

Lower rope in-feed
Operation

Lower rope in-feed

The lower rope in-feed is secured and can be operated quickly and easily.

Combi holder: chainsaw on top + double canister with 6 l special fuel plus 3 l chain oil below. Everything within reach, nothing slips.

Königswieser crown (chain catch)
Safety

Königswieser crown (chain catch)

Universal chain holder for choker and snow chains. Mountable on the timber blade or directly on the winch blade. “Every king needs a crown.”

Pulley package (ULR package)
Equipment

Pulley package (ULR package)

Two sizes: up to 5.5 t (€ 250) and up to 10.5 t (€ 350).

Throttle actuator
Hydraulics

Throttle actuator

Electric linear actuator, moves the tractor’s throttle linkage up and down by remote. Saves diesel and speeds up rope unwinding.

Tilt sensor
Safety

Tilt sensor

Tilt-angle switch, interrupts pulling when a tilt angle is exceeded. Does NOT replace stable, secure positioning.

Frequently asked questions

Questions about the Cross-drum winch type

  • What is a cross-drum winch (Q)?

An electro-hydraulic chain-wheel winch with the drum crosswise to the blade. The rope coils cleanly in the pulling direction, otherwise an advantage of expensive gear-drive winches, here at chain-winch price.

  • Is the Q series a gear-drive winch?

No, the Q is a chain-wheel winch with a bevel gear. It has the winding behaviour of a gear-drive winch, but without its expensive worm gear and higher weight.

  • What does the cross-mounted drum give me?

The rope coils onto the drum in the pulling direction, layer by layer, without skew. Together with the pressure roller, this gives the clean winding quality you otherwise only get with gear-drive winches.

  • What is the SBS special brake system?

Instead of “on/off”, the brake can be opened in stages, only as far as you need. When pulling in, on the slope or driving forward, the load stays calm and the front axle down. Standard on Q.

  • How long is the warranty?

    3-year manufacturer’s warranty on everything made in-house.

  • How long can I get spare parts?

For life. The oldest machine still supplied is the SW 0 from 1974.
